 Funded Programs

The AIS manages a number of government programs on behalf of all independent schools in NSW. The administration of these programs is a significant part of the AIS service to independent schools as it enables the tailoring of services to meet the needs of individual schools and the provision of courses and other professional services sought by schools and their employees.  A list of the programs administered by the AIS is available in the Useful Documents section on this page.

In administering the programs on behalf of schools, the AIS ensures equity of access to funded programs for all schools and endeavours to maximise the outcomes of the programs through excellence in support practices.
 
Application times vary according to the particular program.  Information about the application and funding schedule is available is available in the Useful Documents section on this page.
 
Most of the grants offered to schools as part of funded programs are administered using the following process:
  1. Scope of grants determined by program committee.
  2. Grant offer made to schools electronically or in writing in smaller programs.
  3. Applications assessed by Assessment Panels.
  4. Recommendations of Assessment Panels submitted to relevant Program Committees and then the AIS Board for approval.
  5. Schools informed of outcome and sent Acceptance of Conditions form if successful.
  6. Form returned.
  7. Schools Grants database used to generate payments and accompanying correspondence detailing accountability.
  8. Professional support provided by consultants to schools.
  9. Combined financial accountability statements sent to all funded schools at the end of each school year.
  10. Reports to committee and governments completed.

Information relating to all Australian Government Grant programmes, including the DEEWR Quadrennial Administrative Guidelines which contain specific details about each of the programs including eligibility criteria, application and assessment information, can be accessed directly from the DEEWR website.
