The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) through the newly established Centre for Road Safety, and AISNSW have a Programme Agreement for the delivery of Road Safety Education (RSE) in independent schools.
The AIS K-12 RSE programme is funded by the NSW Centre for Road Safety RTA and is committed to support best teaching and learning practices in the delivery of RSE within the PDHPE curriculum in particular, and other areas of the curriculum as appropriate such as pastoral care, and Stage 6 English. The schools RSE programme aims to develop and deliver resources and professional development opportunities for teachers; advocates for the delivery of RSE to students by classroom teachers and forms an integral part of the formal curriculum in primary and secondary schools as well as teacher pre-service training.
