  • Nominations now open for the 2015 NSW International Student Awards

    The NSW Government has announced the opening of the 2015 NSW International Student Awards, which celebrate the outstanding contribution that international students make to communities in NSW and recognise excellence in international student community engagement.
    Online nominations will close at 5pm on Tuesday 4 August 2015. Award winners will be announced at a special event in October 2015.
    NSW independent schools are invited to nominate for one or more of the two categories of awards:

    1. International Student of the Year
    2. International Student Community Engagement.

  • Update on progress of the AEDC

    Schools have until 31 July to complete their registration for the Australian Early Development Census A(AEDC), to administer the survey to Kindergarten children and to enter demographic and assessment data.
    GST arrangements for payment for teacher relief for the AEDC have been amended as a result of a new ATO ruling.

  • Annual School Reports - Interruption of access to RANGS Online

    All independent schools are required to produce and publicly disclose a 2014 annual school report by Tuesday 30 June. The reports are also due to be submitted to BOSTES by Tuesday 30 June through RANGS Online.
    The BOSTES has advised that as a result of essential IT maintenance, access to RANGS Online will be disrupted between 5:00 pm Friday 26 June and 9:00 am Monday 29 June.
    Schools are advised to plan the timing of the submission of their annual reports accordingly.

  • Registration for voting in Quality Teaching Council election opens

    ​Registration for teachers – including, for the first time, early childhood teachers – wishing to vote in the upcoming Quality Teaching Council election has opened. The election will be held in the second half of this year and will, for the first time, include a position for an early childhood teacher. Registration closes at 12pm on Friday, 9th October 2015.

    The AIS Partnerships in Education have been developed by the AIS to support independent schools to achieve key educational objectives. A number of funding grants can be accessed through this project including Education Research, STEM, Embedding Excellence, Schools Leading Learning, Early LiteracyInclusion Project and Languages.
