  • Work Health and Safety Act 2011 Seminars
    The AIS is conducting a series of complimentary one-day seminars to assist member school Principals, Business Managers and Senior Executives in the implementation of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011 which take effect from January 2012. 
    Attendance at this seminar is strongly recommended for you and your staff.

  • Fire Brigades Amendment (False Alarm Charge) Regulation 2011
    ​A recent amendment to the Fire Brigades Regulation 2008 allows for an increased fine for false fire alarms.

  • Chemical Safety - Chemwatch Upgrade 2011
    ​Chemical safety is an important issue for schools.  The AIS has negotiated with Chemwatch to provide access for member schools to the most recent upgrade to ChemGold 3.  This program offers a range of resources on chemical safety for schools.

  • Work Health and Safety Act 2011
    ​On 7 June 2011, royal assent was given to the Work Health and Safety Bill 2011 which will repeal the current Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 to become effective as of 1 January 2012. The new legislation provides the basis for New South Wales’ participation in the nationally harmonised system of work health and safety. It will enact the nationally agreed Model Work Health and Safety Act in this State. A copy of the legislation can be accessed from the NSW Legislation website.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Amendment Act 2011
    On 7th June 2011, royal assent was given to the Occupational Health and Safety Amendment Bill 2011. The amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 (the OHS Act) are effective as at the date of assent and will assist in aligning the current legislation with the Model Work Health and Safety Act 2011. A copy of the legislation can be accessed from the NSW Legislation website.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Residual Current Devices) Regulation 2011
    On Friday 18 February 2011, the Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Residual Current Devices) Regulation 2011 commenced. A copy of the legislation can be accessed from the NSW Legislation website at: www.legislation.nsw.gov.au  A summary, frequently asked questions, an information sheet on RCDs and information in relation to small business rebates available for the purchase and installation of safety switches is available on this website for AIS members.​

  • Annual Report 2010 AIS Advice

    The AIS updated its advice for member schools to assist with the completion of Annual Reports for the Board of Studies.  The document is available to users from AIS members schools and can be found on the Registration and Accreditation of Schools page under Government Regulations.​
