 Child Protection

The AIS assists schools with a range of child protection matters including investigations, reporting and compliance with various government regulations.

The AIS recommends that all member schools should have an Accredited Child Protection Investigator. Please refer to Training and Seminars for further information.

MOU between Department of Family and Community Services and The AISNSW

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) relates to the reporting requirements of Section 27 of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998  (the Act) and the endorsement of the continuation of centralised reporting for Risk of Significant Harm (ROSH) reports.

The endorsement of centralised reporting across the sector will bring about a consistent approach to reporting within schools across the non-government school sector and NSW and bring about greater collaboration between FACS and independent schools, whilst still meeting the requirement of mandatory reporting under Section 27 of the Act.
