  • Young Explorers ICT Competition
    ​Young ICT Explorers is a not-for-profit competition which has been created by SAP to encourage school students to create their best Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related projects.
    The competition’s alignment with the school curriculum enables students to apply what they learn in their ICT classroom to develop a technology related project. At the judging event, students have the opportunity to present their project to a judging panel of academia, industry partners and ICT professionals. Visit the website for more information:

  • Stay Smart Online
    ​The Australian Government's cybersecurity website provides information for Australian internet users on the simple steps they can take to protect their personal and financial information online. The Budd:e cybersecurity education package (found in the Schools and Teachers tab of the website) comprises a series of  media-rich and interactive learning activities for Australian schools students. The package comprises two learning modules – one for primary students and one for secondary students – which help students adopt safe and secure online practices.   • Scootle - Learning Objects
    The Learning Federation's Learning Objects, high quality, interactive, multimedia material - are available to schools registered with Scootle, a free online resource library. Over 2000 Learning Objects in Mathematics, Literacy, Science, Health and Physical Education, Studies of Society and Environment, Languages, Technology and the Arts are available through Scootle as well as video footage and much more.
     
    This content is very popular with teachers in 1:1 laptop schools and also with those using interactive whiteboards in the classroom.

    Although the content is free for teachers to use, your school must be registered for you to set up your own account and collect content. For more information on accessing or using Scootle and Learning Objects please contact the IT Department at the AIS

  • Teachers' TV Australia
    Teachers' TV Australia is the Australian equivalent of the successful UK initiative, Teachers TV. In the UK it is a successful educational web and 24 hour cable television initiative providing teachers and school staff with professional development resources that are engaging, relevant and convenient to use. Teachers' TV content is often delivered by teachers, about teaching with stories focussed on classroom and school observation to illustrate how different teachers deal with different challenges, ideas, innovation and systems.
