 Services for Students with Disabilities

Through Commonwealth Government funding, AISNSW provides the services of special education consultants to those NSW independent schools enrolling students with disabilities. These services include assisting schools with:

  • The development and implementation of individual plans: Special education consultants work collaboratively with school principals, staff, students and parents to develop an appropriate individual plan for each student with a disability. These individual plans identify a student's needs and outline adjustments and procedures for implementing appropriate strategies to maximise student access and participation and the provision of support services.
  • Advice with regard to relevant legislation pertaining to students with disabilities: AISNSW provides guidance to school staff to assist in their understanding of the ramifications of legislation with regard to enrolment of and planning for, students with disabilities and in the ability of teachers to efficiently and effectively assess the learning needs of and outcomes for these students.

HSC Profile of Student Achievement
The Board Bulletin has two important notices regarding changes to the HSC Profile of Student Achievement:

 Life Skills BoS Update

 

HSC Profile of Student Achievement

The Profile of Student Achievement for students undertaking one or more Life Skills courses for their HSC will be produced and issued by the Board of Studies, commencing with the 2011 cohort. Schools are required to enter information in Schools Online relating to outcomes achieved for each student in each Life Skills course they have undertaken this year. Outcome collection will be open in Schools Online on 8th August and will close on 9th September. The Board of Studies will send the Profile of Student Achievement to students along with their other HSC credentials.

Teachers will be able to register next term for a videoconference on 31st August for further information on the Profile of Student Achievement and demonstration of outcome collection.
