 Evaluation and Review of Schools

As independent schools continue to deliver quality educational outcomes for their respective communities, they are increasingly facing the realities of many other organisations operating in highly competitive environments.  In addition to this, the Australian Government’s transparency and accountability agenda is moving education into an era of quantifying and comparing increased stakeholder value.  While independent schools are well used to accountability to a broad stakeholder constituency, under the current government’s reporting framework success, or value-add, will be judged through a much narrower lens.

It is within this context that the AIS has developed school evaluation processes that are available to member schools in NSW.

School evaluation is about reflection and improvement for the benefit of the school community as a whole.  It encompasses a range of reflective professional processes designed to assist schools to learn about themselves, highlight their strengths, identify areas for improvement and promote the development of meaningful and achievable action plans.  School evaluation processes also support the maintenance of evidenced high quality practices.
