Endeavour Language Teacher Fellowships - 2011
The Endeavour Language Teacher Fellowships (ELTF) are a part of the broader Australian Government‟s Endeavour Awards which offer opportunities to practising languages teachers and trainee (pre-service) languages teachers to improve their language proficiency and cultural knowledge through intensive short-term study programs. Awardees both prior to and part of the 2006 ELTF study program are eligible to apply again. The closing date for applications is Tues 3 Aug 10.   read more...

Australian Curriculum - Languages
The development of the initial advice paper for Languages has commenced. This paper provides advice on curriculum design and will be the subject of consultation at a national forum to be held in August. The initial advice will inform the Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Languages that, following a broad-based consultation, will be used to guide curriculum writers in the languages learning area.

HSC Language courses - 2010 exam rubrics
Please note that new HSC examination rubrics apply to the Writing Parts A and B in all of the following HSC courses from 2010: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Modern Greek and Spanish.There are also changes to the Oral examination in the Extension course for all of those languages. For details, click on documents dated 19 March 2010 for each relevant course.

MLTA NSW
Membership to the Modern Language Teachers' Association is open to all teachers of Languages in NSW. Members have access to Babel magazine, conferences and competitions for their students, newsletters and a political voice for Languages. Eligibility of Language students - Stage 6
Every student wishing to enrol in a Continuers course in a language that has a Background Speakers course, and every student wishing to enrol in a Beginners language course must complete the relevant Languages Eligibility Declaration form.   read more...
HSC Languages Courses - changes from 2010
In December 2008, the Board of Studies of NSW has approved changes to the examination specifications and assessment requirements for the Beginners, Continuers and Extension courses in Languages.

HSC Languages – Use of Dictionaries
