Members have access to Babel magazine, conferences and competitions for their students, newsletters and a political voice for Languages. Tape Services is a unique operation which produces, under Part VA of the Copyright Act, off air VHS master copies of all educationally relevant programs broadcast. The service maintains a collection of approximately 20,000 educational programs which provides an outstanding curriculum resource for use in teaching and learning programs for all educational institutions.

Eligibility of Language students - Stage 6
Every student wishing to enrol in a Continuers course in a language that has a Background Speakers course, and every student wishing to enrol in a Beginners language course must complete the relevant Languages Eligibility Declaration form.

HSC Languages Courses - changes from 2010
In December 2008, the Board of Studies of NSW has approved changes to the examination specifications and assessment requirements for the Beginners, Continuers and Extension courses in Languages.

Teaching and Learning Languages: A Guide
Resources funded by DEEWR including (1) a Guide, (2) Companion documents that provide examples of the key ideas of the Guide as applied in the six most commonly taught languages: Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian and Japanese (3) a handbook to facilitate the use of the Guide and the companion documents.

Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians
The Goals were developed by Education Ministers in collaboration with the Catholic and independent school sectors, following public consultation on the draft declaration. They set the direction for Australian schooling for the next 10 years. Several references are made to the goal of making our students responsible global citizens.

HSC Languages – Use of Dictionaries
The use of monolingual and/or bilingual print dictionaries (but NOT electronic dictionaries) is permitted in the Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Modern Greek and Spanish Beginners written examinations and in the Continuers, Extension, Background Speakers and CCAFL written languages examinations.
