NALSSP
The Australian Government has committed funding of $62.4 million over 2008–09 to 2010–11 for the National Asian Languages and Studies in Schools Program (NALSSP). The aim of the program is to increase the level of school students studying the languages and cultures of Australia’s key regional neighbours, namely China, Indonesia, Japan and Korea.

Cheaper, less effort, and just as rewarding as travelling, being an AFS host family allows you to experience Asia from the comfort of your home. Right now AFS is seeking volunteer host families for exchange students from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. These students will be arriving in August and early 2008, now it's your chance to share the Australian way of life with one of these enthusiastic students!
