As the National Virtual Debating Competition gets underway for another year it is time for AISNSW to ring a starting bell as we hand over the cards to some debating notables.
Masters Academy is a specialist communications team that trains students, coaches and teachers in public speaking, debating and communications skills every year. They have supported AISNSW as partners in the National Virtual Debating Competition for the last two years and this has brought the level of adjudication, and consequentially debating, to a new level.
This is the right fit for the Australian National Virtual Debating Competition (ANVDC) as Masters Academy will provide a dedicated organisation behind the scenes, and continue the trained adjudication and encouragement of students during debates.
AISNSW with Independent School Queensland (ISQ) began the competition with a few schools in 2015. Now for eight years student teams across Australia have been taking part in the competition, which removes the tyranny of distance and associated costs that can prohibit schools, particularly rural and remote schools, from benefiting from face-to-face debating.
Even the pandemic and the cancellation of near all co-curricular activities was no barrier to National Virtual Debating as students continued to debate - even from their own lounge rooms in lockdown
AISNSW would like to sincerely thank Non-Government Schools Super (NGS Super) who have been the generous sponsors of the NGS Super National Virtual Debating Competition. Without their annual support, AISNSW would not have been able to continue the completion after 2017.
