This list of resources has been compiled to assist teachers to plan learning from home opportunities related to numeracy. Some additional links are included to provide information for parents.


  Sample Teaching and Learning Plans 

NSW Department of Education

This has been created to assist teachers with preparing to teach remotely. It includes sample weekly teaching plans and ideas for activities. Advice for parents and carers is included as well as considerations for the delivery of remote.

Khan Academy

This link will take you to a variety of schedules. These are meant to be templates that teachers could adopt or copy and modify to better suit the needs of their students. Within each schedule are further links to a comprehensive range of video tutorials in every subject. This is an international website so the grades might not match the NSW syllabus.

Kentucky Center for Mathematics

This website has a list of resources that can be shared with parents and outlines online and printable games and activities for every grade. There are particular pages that require a log-in.

Khan Academy

This link directs teachers to a range of teaching videos organised by grade level and topic. The grades may not directly match the NSW syllabus.

Learn Zillion - Mathematics

Learn Zillion is an online learning platform that teaches mathematics from explicit instruction videos. This is an American website so the grades might not match the NSW syllabus. Some content, such as money and measurement will be American specific. Teachers can currently join Learn Zillion for free (March 2020). They can then create classes and assign video tutorials for their students.

Edpuzzle

This spreadsheet links to a variety of video lessons across all strands of maths for all grades, particularly for Stage 2 and 3 Number. These are constantly being updated. The grades might not match the NSW syllabus.

Free app aimed at children in K-2. This covers literacy and numeracy.

  Support for Parents

Parent Supports Kit - Mathematics

Moss Vale and Exeter Public Schools have created booklets for parents which outline what is taught in mathematics from Kindergarten to Year 6. They provide links to teaching at home ideas and videos.
