Teacher Relief Rate Examples

Teacher A

  • 22 children/checklists = 7hrs 20min (22÷3) + 1hr t/training = 8hrs 20min
  • Daily casual rate to relieve Teacher 1 = $586.62 ($97.77 p/h) (NSW’s AEDC 2024 casual rate)
  • Reimbursement: 7hrs 20min X $97.77 = $716.65 (checklists) + $97.77 (training) = $814.42

Teacher B

  • 9 children/checklists (multi-stage) = 3 hours (9÷3) + 1hr t/training = 4hrs
  • Daily casual rate to relieve Teacher 1 = $586.62 ($97.77 p/h) (NSW’s AEDC 2024 casual rate)
  • Reimbursement: 3hrs X $97.77 = $293.31 (checklists) + $97.77 (training) = $391.08

Note:  A half-day minimum payment applies for schools whose time completing the AEDC is less than 3 hours. School will receive 3hrs X $97.77 = $293.31
