ESTA-L® is an early literacy screening platform that has been developed by the Association of Independent Schools of NSW, to assist teachers to map students’ phonological and phonemic awareness and phonics skills. These constrained skills are fundamental to ensuring all children learn to read, particularly students in Kindergarten to Year 2.

The app provides a seamless, paper-free, time-efficient screener that quickly assesses and instantly tracks individual student and whole class performance. ESTA-L® is quick and simple to use, requiring only a phone or tablet. Individual student, whole class or whole school data can easily be analysed in the portal using the specially designed in-built dashboards to inform classroom instruction and monitor student progress.

A subscription fee of $5 per student billed annually applies. Administrators and teachers can access the app at no cost.
