As NSW Health has resumed its routine vaccination program in schools, it is encouraging schools to share the following messaging with parent(s)/carer(s) to provide reassurance about the routine vaccination (not COVID-19) program and the importance of signed consent for any student involved in the routine vaccination program. NSW Health has provided the following text that schools can use in their communications with parents/carers.

Messaging for schools to share: 
Routine school vaccinations being offered in 2022


NSW Health is working with schools to offer the following routine vaccines to Year 7 and Year 10 students in 2022 to protect them from preventable diseases:

Human papillomavirus (HPV)
2 doses at least 6 months apart
Diphtheria, Tetanus and Whooping Cough (dTpa)

Year 10
Meningococcal ACWY (MenACWY)

Due to previous COVID-19 school disruptions, NSW Health will also be offering catch-up vaccination during 2022 to unvaccinated students who missed out in 2020 and 2021. Where this is not possible, parents/guardians will be contacted and recommended to access free catch-up vaccine for their child at their local GP.

Please note that any vaccine offered to students at school requires the signed consent of parents/guardians.
