Collecting and using robust data that is reflective of the unique nature of each independent school is an important and effective approach. In support of this, The Evidence Institute has created a comprehensive suite of evidence-based surveys to help provide increased understanding of your school community.

Since 2019 Perspectives: Your school in focus has been used by independent schools to survey their stakeholders across the five domains of School Environment, Teaching and Learning, Student Wellbeing, Leadership, and Community. This robust data provides school leaders with invaluable information as they investigate ways to better meet the needs of their school community. Insights ascertained during data interpretation sessions are used to inform future priorities, goal setting and action planning cycles, and support strategic planning and reporting practices.

In 2022, two additional evidence-based surveys from this suite will be available for use from Term Two - Perspectives: Staff Wellbeing and Perspectives: Graduating Year 12.

The Perspectives: Staff Wellbeing survey is based on a broad range of current wellbeing research and aims to capture the perceptions of teachers, non-teaching staff, and school leaders about their own wellbeing. We know that the staff of any school are its most valuable asset. Understanding their needs in a systematic and evidence-informed way can help school leadership teams at both strategic and operational levels, including enhancement of targeted recruitment and retention strategies.

It is important to gather the perceptions of Year 12 students and their parents as they complete their time at your independent school. This can help your leadership team more deeply understand the impact of the school’s whole educational offering from a unique viewpoint. Perspectives: Graduating Year 12 provides items which are specifically relevant to the context of school leavers and can be used in conjunction with Perspectives: Your school in focus or as a standalone.
