Primary Writing

The Primary Writing Project is a professional learning initiative developed by the Association of Independent Schools of NSW to support K-6 teachers to teach writing effectively.

How Does the Project Work?

During this one-year project, schools access a range of resources and expertise from an AISNSW consultant. The Primary Writing Project components have been structured as follows:

School-based face-to-face and online self-paced professional learning modules – equipping teachers with the tools to plan, program and deliver effective writing instruction across K-6.

Consultancy Support – focused on assisting teachers to implement evidenced based writing instruction in collaboration with school executive staff.

Parent Workshop - designed in consultation with each school to equip parents to support their children’s writing across the curriculum.

Resources – including professional readings, templates, video clips, classroom strategies and materials.
