Primary Syllabus Implementation: 2024-2027

With four new Primary syllabuses to be fully implemented by 2027, each school will need to consider its own unique needs when making decisions about how they will best manage the planning and preparation period.

AISNSW Primary consultants have prepared a range of possible implementation models to support schools in their deliberations.

Revised NESA Assessment Certification Examination (ACE) Rules for RoSA and HSC

All Independent schools are advised to familiarise themselves with the revised ACE rules and review their assessment policies and procedures with the view to update where required. The revised ACE rules take effect from 14 October and in support of the changes, NESA is offering the Accredited professional learning module – A Spotlight on Clarified ACE: Leading the Transition. Final Syllabuses Released

In early Term 3, NESA announced the release of new syllabuses for:

• Creative Arts K-6
• HSIE K-6
• PDHPE K-6
• PDHPE 7-10
• Science & Technology K-6

These syllabuses can all be accessed on NESA’s Digital Curriculum here. Schools have 2.5 years to plan and prepare to teach these new syllabuses from 2027. For those schools who wish to implement these new syllabuses prior to 2027, please refer to the NESA registration advice here.

AISNSW Primary Curriculum Network Launching in 2025

AISNSW is thrilled to announce the launch of its new Primary Curriculum Network. Open to all leaders of Primary curriculum in AISNSW member schools, the network will meet one afternoon per term via Zoom to share effective approaches, practices and resources across the K-6 key learning areas.

Draft Syllabus ‘Have Your Say’ Period, Term 4 2024

NESA has announced a ‘Have Your Say’ period for draft 11-12 syllabuses for Dance, Drama, Music, Economics, Legal Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth and Environmental Science and their corresponding Life Skills courses. Syllabuses will be available for public consultation from Monday 28 October – Friday 20 December 2024 and can be accessed here during this time period.
