To ensure the integrity and accountability of the profession, the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers describe the knowledge, skills and understanding expected of competent and effective teachers. Accreditation is the structure through which teachers are recognised as meeting these Standards.

Teacher Accreditation

Teacher accreditation in NSW independent schools takes a number of different forms depending on the type of industrial agreement in place and a range of other factors. In all instances, teachers must be registered with NESA.
