The Perspectives: Your School in Focus suite of surveys collects valuable insights from a whole school viewpoint. These data help to highlight what makes independent schools dynamic, distinctive, and uniquely able to meet the learning needs of their communities.

Perspectives helps schools capture feedback to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.

This evidence-based measure reflects research and expert knowledge into important factors that support effective education for learners. Capturing feedback from students, parents, teachers, staff, board members and school leaders, the complete dataset provides a 360o view of the school experience. These data can inform leaders about a variety of topics – school environment, teaching and learning, student wellbeing, leadership and more – and support schools in identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement. Triangulated with your existing school data, this powerful tool supports developing a deeper understanding of how practices, processes and culture create a learning environment in which students can thrive.

Since its launch in April 2019, 26 schools have completed the survey and put the data to use as part of their school improvement work, with another 14 schools currently underway as part of the strategic planning and/or review processes. Many schools have gone on to use their Perspectives data in concert with other AISNSW services, leveraging its insights to guide planning and direction.

The Perspectives member service includes comprehensive support with the administration process, an interactive dashboard, statistical and text reports, and a two-hour data interpretation session with an expert data analyst. Designed to collect data on a two-yearly cycle, the suite of surveys provides a consistent, robust, longitudinal data collection process for all member schools, at no cost.
