A number of Independent school students received honours for their entries in this year's Harmony Day Poster competition.
Primary Schools
Sofia Anzani - The Illawarra Grammar School - Southern NSW (Regional Winner)
Orlaine Suggate - One School Global, Albury - Western NSW (Regional Winner)
Secondary Schools
Taemin Joseph Um - Redeemer Baptist School - West Sydney (Highly Commended)
Tabitha Alex - Meriden School, Strathfield - South-west Sydney (Highly Commended)
Sonia Sharif - Burgmann Anglican - Southern NSW (Highly Commended)*
This years song and poster competition attracted 4000 submissions from across Australia each one responding creatively to the theme ‘Living in Harmony’. Many artworks and songs reflected students lived experience of living in a culturally diverse society.
The AISNSW Community Cohesion Team were committee members for the 2023 Harmony Day Poster and Song Competition Awards Ceremony held at the NSW Parliament House. The event was attended by the recipient winners, their Principals and families from across NSW as well the Hon. Steve Kamper, Minister for Muliticulturalism and Mr Mark Coure, Shadow Minister of Multiculturalism.
