Growing Evidence Informed Practice Professional Learning

The Evidence Institute, in collaboration with the University of Sydney’s Centre for Educational Measurement and Assessment (CEMA), has developed Growing Evidence Informed Practice. 

This NESA accredited 12-week blended learning experience has been designed to equip you and your team with deep knowledge, understanding and skills in using evidence, data and assessment. It will enhance the ways you think about, gather and use classroom and whole school evidence in support of student learning and wellbeing. With all learning delivered via an online platform, you will engage with experts, and other teachers and leaders across all career stages and contexts.

Through the Growing Evidence Informed Practice learning experience, you will:

• enhance your understanding of modern assessment theory, and its application in practice
• develop a deeper understanding of evidence informed practices
• explore contextually sensitive and practical applications of evidence informed decision-making
• increase your capability and confidence in supporting colleagues to improve their practice.

It is anticipated that these outcomes will result in improved student motivation, engagement and achievement.

Growing Evidence Informed Practice will be delivered via an online platform enabling individuals and teams irrespective of circumstance and location to:

• engage in a combination of self-paced and guided learning
• participate in disciplined dialogue, learning with and from each other, within a community of practice
• identify and audit knowledge and skills
• review and refine professional thinking and practice, including leading change within your own context
• apply what you have learned in a targeted and context-specific project.

Growing Evidence Informed Practice provides you the opportunity to engage as an individual or as a group or team from your school.
