Join us for a transformative two-day conference dedicated to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Empowerment and Educational Excellence. This event is designed for school leaders, educators, and community leaders whoare passionate about improving educational and cultural outcomes for Aboriginaland Torres Strait Islander students.
The AISNSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Conference is a significant event that brings together educators, policymakers, and community leaders from across the nation. Over two days, participants will engage in listening, sharing, and learning to enable culturally responsive pedagogies in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education in Independent schools.
This year's conference theme, Cultural Empowerment and Educational Excellence: The Waratah Project in Action, aims to unpack the impact of the Waratah Framework in Independent schools across NSW to challenge the misconception that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, culture, and educational excellence are not intrinsically linked to school achievement and post-school aspirations.
The series of keynote sessions across the two days are designed to set a challenging dialogue for educators, policymakers, and community leaders. These sessions, along with interactive workshops, will encourage delegates to reflection on their current contexts and how they can continue to be change-makers in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education for their wider school community.
