Applications are now open for teachers who wish to be considered for the 2019 Experienced Teacher assessment panels.

Teachers who are currently on Band 3 in schools that have a Multiple Enterprise Agreement are eligible to apply. Teachers who completed Experienced Teacher accreditation in 2018 are welcome to apply. Applications will close on 2nd August 2019 and teachers will be notified in late August as to whether or not they have been selected. We encourage you to apply to be a member of this year’s panels and appreciate you informing your colleagues about this opportunity.

The Experienced Teacher panels depend on dedicated, knowledgeable and committed professionals who are prepared to spend some of the October non term time with like-minded colleagues reviewing the evidence of teachers who have worked hard reflecting on and documenting their practice.

As there are two panels, one for the Standards-based Pathway and another one for the Action Research Pathway you may indicate for which panel you wish to be considered. You may apply for both panels. About 100 assessors are required for the Standards-based panel and 10 for the Action Research panel.

Panel dates

Standards-based pathway: 30th September – 2nd October

Action Research Pathway: 3rd – 4th October

Panel members will be required for different amounts of time depending on the number of applications they are allocated to assess.

Panel venue

The assessment panel is conducted on Level 12, 99 York Street, Sydney. Morning and afternoon tea and lunch is provided each day. Each panel member is paid $150 per day for each day of participation.

Training is provided on the first day of each panel and is compulsory. Teachers who are maintaining their accreditation can count the time on the panel as NESA registered professional development.
