Staffing and Teacher Accreditation

Schools in NSW can only employ teachers who have been accredited by NESA. This requirement applies to all teachers delivering the NESA curriculum, and all early childhood teachers working in an approved early childhood centre.

To apply for initial registration, a proposed new school needs to have a staffing plan. Proposed new schools are not required to employ any staff, including a principal, until the school has been registered and is ready to open.
