The 2021 COVID Intensive Learning Support Program will provide small group tuition for students who need it most across NSW primary, secondary and specialist schools. This is in recognition of the difficulties that students and school communities faced in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other natural disasters.
Through the COVID Intensive Learning Support Program, schools will be provided with funding to employ additional educators who will deliver small group tuition for students who need it most, with a priority for literacy and numeracy.
The NSW Department of Education identified the schools eligible for the program, the amount they are to receive and the approximate number of students to be supported as part of the program. These schools were notified in December 2020 when the NSW Government announced the program.
