Experienced Teacher accreditation offers you the opportunity to gain recognition when your current skills and practice are consistently beyond the level of a Proficient teacher. It also provides an opportunity to reflect on and further develop your teaching practice.

You may not be aware that Experienced Teacher accreditation has been evolving over the past few years to be a much more flexible and streamlined experience.

We are pleased to announce that following feedback from principals, school leaders and applicants, further enhancements are coming to Experienced Teacher accreditation for the 2025 cohort as AISNSW continues to provide even more streamlined and flexible processes.

Key enhancements for 2025 Experienced Teacher accreditation include:

•a revised timeline for the application and submission process

  • applications will be open 4-15 November 2024
  • submission of evidence will be open 28 April 2025 to 1 August 2025
  • collection of evidence can commence now (from 30 January 2024) to closing of submission on 1 August 2025   

•accreditation fee broken into two parts

  • an application fee of $275 payable at the point of application
  • $975 submission fee payable at the point of submission of evidence

•increased flexibility for evidence 

  • a focus on holistic demonstration of practice against the Standards reflecting the applicant’s role and context
  • capacity for evidence to include collaboration with colleagues

•additional resources to support schools and teachers.


If you are interested in applying for 2025 Experienced Teacher accreditation this year, the following steps will be of assistance:

  • Register for the new online module Am I ready for Experienced Teacher Accreditation? this online module is at no cost and designed to assist applicants, supervisors and Principals to determine the readiness of a teacher to apply for Experienced Teacher accreditation.
  • Engage with the 2025 Experienced Teacher Important Dates document and the 2025 Experienced Teacher Accreditation Manual which will be available soon.
  • Speak with your school about your readiness to undertake 2025 Experienced Teacher accreditation.
  • If you have your school’s support, commence collecting your evidence. The evidence collection period for 2025 Experienced Teacher accreditation is from 30 January 2024 to 1 August 2025 to enable teachers to use existing artifacts of their work as evidence for accreditation rather than create additional documentation.
  • Make a note in your diary to complete the application form between 4 November 2024 and 15 November 2024 and pay the application fee

  • Am I ready for Experienced Teacher Accreditation? a new online module at no cost to assist applicants, supervisors and Principals to determine the readiness of a teacher to apply for Experienced Teacher accreditation.
  • Working Towards Experienced Teacher Accreditation course for both current and prospective Experienced Teacher accreditation applicants.
  • Supporting Teachers though Experienced Teacher Accreditation course for both current and prospective Experienced Teacher accreditation supervisors.
