School-based Consultancy Support and Professional Learning

In supporting schools to enhance literacy and numeracy teaching, the AISNSW Student Services division offer a range of school-based support that is focused on reviewing, planning and implementing strategies to improve student outcomes in literacy and numeracy. This may include, but is not limited to:

• In class instructional coaching that includes modelling of lessons and teaching strategies, as well as observations and feedback of classroom teaching;
• Ongoing whole staff professional learning based upon empirical evidence but tailored to support individual schools;
• A range of on-line professional learning modules addressing key aspects of quality literacy and numeracy learning and teaching strategies to promote student learning;

Parent workshops that provide information and practical strategies for assisting children’s literacy and numeracy learning at home as well as boosting collaboration between the school and home.
